JATIMTIMES – Jembatan Cangar I dan II di jalur wisata Batu-Mojokerto tengah dipasangi pagar pengaman setinggi 2,5 meter. Hal ini sebagai tindak lanjut upaca mencegah aksi nekat bunuh diri yang kerap terjadi beberapa waktu kebelakang. Saat ini pengerjaan pemasangan pagar menyentuh 70 persen dan ditargetkan tuntas akhir bulan Juni ini.

Pengerjaan dilakukan Pemerintah Provinsi Jawa Timur. Digarap langsung oleh Dinas Pekerjaan Umum Bina Marga Provinsi Jawa Timur melalui Unit Pelaksana Teknis Pengelolaan Jalan dan Jembatan (UPT PJJ) Malang.

Kepala UPT PJJ Malang Aryo Yudhanto Wijokongko menyampaikan, pemasangan pagar menjadi prioritas utama demi mengembalikan rasa aman bagi pengguna jalan serta wisatawan yang melintasi jalur hulu tersebut. Ia menyebut bahwa tim teknis di lapangan terus melakukan percepatan pembangunan fisik jembatan mengingat jalur Cangar merupakan urat nadi perekonomian dan wisata utama yang selalu padat kendaraan.

“Saat ini progresnya sudah mencapai 70 persen. Melihat ritme pekerjaan di lapangan, kami optimistis pemasangan pagar pengaman di Jembatan Cangar I dan II selesai paling lambat akhir Juni ini,” kata Aryo.

Mengenai spesifikasi teknis, benteng penyelamat ini dirancang dengan konstruksi yang sangat kokoh. Koordinator UPT PJJ Malang, Yoshua menjelaskan bahwa pagar pengaman setinggi 2,5 meter dipasang membentang rapat di kedua sisi jembatan.

Ketinggian tersebut dinilai sangat ideal untuk menutup celah dan ruang bagi siapa saja yang berniat melakukan aksi berbahaya di atas jembatan. "Langkah preventif ini diharapkan menjadi solusi konkret agar tragedi serupa tidak terulang kembali di masa depan," ucap Yoshua.

Sebagai informasi, percepatan pemagaran ini dipicu oleh dua peristiwa tragis yang terjadi dalam waktu berdekatan di awal tahun. Publik sempat digegerkan oleh aksi nekat seorang pemuda asal Lumajang yang melompat dari Jembatan Kembar Cangar, disusul tragedi serupa yang menimpa seorang pemuda asal Mojokerto di lokasi yang sama.
