Sebelum memulai, siapkan beberapa perlengkapan seperti lem bulu mata, bulu mata palsu satuan, dan pinset. Lem yang digunakan bisa disesuaikan dengan preferensi masing-masing. Sementara bulu mata bisa dipilih yang sudah memiliki perekat atau yang masih memerlukan tambahan lem.
“Kalau pemula mau tahu cara pakai bulu mata palsu satuan biar benar-benar lentik, awet, aman, enggak nusuk, dan enggak geser sama sekali, ada teknik yang bisa dicoba. Yang penting, siapkan dulu lem bulu mata, bulu mata satuan, dan pinset,” kata Pao.
Berbeda dengan teknik yang mengharuskan penggunaan penjepit bulu mata atau maskara sebelum pemasangan, Pao mengaku metode ini tidak memerlukannya. Meski demikian, ia menegaskan bahwa bukan berarti teknik lain salah, melainkan hanya alternatif yang menurutnya lebih mudah untuk diterapkan.
“Di cara ini enggak perlu jepit bulu mata atau maskara dulu. Bukan berarti cara yang lain salah. Ini cuma salah satu cara yang menurutku lebih praktis,” imbuhnya.
Langkah pertama adalah mengaplikasikan lem bulu mata langsung pada garis kelopak mata bagian atas, menyerupai saat menggunakan eyeliner. Pao mengimbau agar lem tidak mengenai bulu mata asli karena dapat membuat bulu mata saling menempel dan sulit dibersihkan.
“Pakai lem bulu mata seperti pakai eyeliner di atas garis bulu mata asli. Usahakan jangan sampai kena bulu mata karena nanti lengket dan susah dibersihkan. Kalau terlanjur kena, bersihkan pakai spoolie,” jelasnya.
Setelah lem diaplikasikan, pengguna disarankan memegang cermin pada posisi lebih rendah dari wajah sehingga arah pandangan sedikit menunduk. Posisi ini dinilai memudahkan saat menempelkan bulu mata satuan dari bagian bawah ke garis lem yang sudah dibuat.

Jika menggunakan bulu mata yang belum memiliki perekat, lem perlu dioleskan terlebih dahulu pada pangkal bulu mata sebelum dipasang. Selanjutnya, tekan perlahan menggunakan pinset atau jari agar bulu mata menempel sempurna pada garis lem.
“Kalau kaca ditaruh di bawah, kita lebih gampang lihat garis bulu mata. Tempelkan bulu matanya dari bawah ke lem tadi, lalu tekan pelan ke atas supaya benar-benar menempel,” terang Pao.
Jika hasil pemasangan terlihat terlalu tegak atau mencuat ke atas, bulu mata buisa ditekan sedikit ke arah bawah hingga mendapatkan sudut yang diinginkan. Langkah tersebut kemudian diulangi hingga seluruh bagian mata terpasang bulu mata satuan secara merata.
Menurut Pao, teknik ini mampu menghasilkan tampilan bulu mata yang lebih lentik, terlihat menyatu dengan bulu mata asli, serta tetap nyaman dipakai dalam berbagai aktivitas. “Kalau sudah terpasang semua, hasilnya jadi lentik banget, lebih natural, nyaman dipakai, dan enggak gampang geser,” tutup Pao.
