JATIMTIMES - Skin prep atau persiapan kulit sebelum mengaplikasikan makeup menjadi salah satu faktor penting yang menentukan hasil riasan. Namun, masih banyak orang yang melakukan kesalahan dengan menumpuk berbagai produk skincare tanpa memberi waktu agar setiap lapisan menyerap sempurna ke dalam kulit. Akibatnya, makeup menjadi lebih mudah bergeser, patchy, hingga cepat luntur meski menggunakan produk dengan daya tahan tinggi. 

Hal tersebut dikupas makeup artist profesional Pao Hilda Afiani. Ia menjelaskan bahwa kesalahan tersebut kerap terjadi karena banyak orang menganggap skincare yang baru diaplikasikan sudah langsung meresap hanya karena permukaannya terlihat kering.

“Setiap layer skin prep mau tidak mau harus menyerap sempurna supaya efektif. Kalau asal ditumpuk, hasil makeup justru lebih mudah luntur,” kata Pao.

Menurut dia, tidak ada patokan waktu yang pasti untuk menunggu setiap produk skincare meresap. Kondisi kulit, jenis produk, hingga kelembapan lingkungan membuat proses penyerapan bisa berbeda pada setiap orang. Karena itu, yang lebih penting adalah mengenali tanda-tanda saat produk benar-benar sudah terserap.

Pada tahap penggunaan toner, misalnya, Pao menyarankan untuk menepuk-nepuk produk hingga kulit terasa lebih kesat. Sensasi tersebut menjadi tanda bahwa toner telah menyerap dan kulit siap menerima produk berikutnya.

“Kalau toner sudah meresap, kulit biasanya terasa lebih kesat. Itu tandanya bisa lanjut ke tahap berikutnya,” imbuh Pao.

Sementara, untuk serum, terutama yang bersifat menghidrasi, indikatornya sedikit berbeda. Setelah diratakan, serum yang telah menyerap akan memberikan sensasi kulit terasa lebih “grip” atau sedikit lengket alami ketika disentuh, bukan licin akibat produk yang masih berada di permukaan kulit.

“Serum yang sudah menyerap biasanya terasa nge-grip di kulit, seperti menempel ringan saat disentuh. Baru setelah itu lanjut ke moisturizer,” jelasnya.

Pada penggunaan moisturizer atau krim wajah, Pao menyarankan melakukan uji sederhana dengan menggeser jari secara perlahan di atas permukaan kulit. Bila produk sudah meresap, hanya sedikit bahkan hampir tidak ada krim yang berpindah ke jari.

“Kalau moisturizer sudah menyerap, saat jari digeser pelan tidak banyak produk yang ikut terangkat. Itu tandanya skin prep sudah siap untuk makeup,” tambah Pao.

Pao menambahkan, memahami kondisi kulit lebih penting dibanding terpaku pada hitungan menit sebelum mengaplikasikan produk berikutnya. Menurut dia, setiap tahapan skincare yang benar akan membantu menciptakan permukaan kulit yang lebih stabil sehingga foundation, cushion, maupun produk complexion lainnya dapat menempel lebih baik dan bertahan lebih lama.

Ia pun mengimbau bahwa proses skin prep bukan sekadar rutinitas sebelum berdandan, tetapi menjadi fondasi utama agar hasil makeup tampak lebih halus, menyatu dengan kulit, dan tidak mudah luntur sepanjang hari.
