Mengapa Keluarga Pasien Tidak Boleh Masuk ke Ruang Tindakan atau ICU?

JATIMTIMES - Ketika seseorang harus menjalani tindakan medis yang penting atau perawatan di ruang intensif seperti ICU, keluarga atau kerabat sering dilarang masuk. Meski terkadang terasa berat secara emosional, keputusan ini ternyata memiliki alasan yang sangat logis demi keselamatan dan kenyamanan pasien. 

Dokter spesialis proktologi dr Raymond Adiwicaksana SpB melalui akun TikTok-nya @dokterbedahsemarang, menjelaskan bahwa saat dokter melakukan tindakan medis, mereka membutuhkan tingkat konsentrasi yang tinggi tanpa adanya gangguan. Kehadiran keluarga yang emosional atau histeris bisa menjadi distraksi besar dalam proses ini.

"Pada saat dokter melakukan tindakan itu, membutuhkan fokus yang besar, sehingga tidak boleh ada distraksi. Apalagi distraksi dari orang-orang sekitar yang mungkin histeris, ketakutan dan lain sebagainya. Jadi, udah tahu kan kenapa keluarga pasien tidak boleh masuk ke ruang tindakan," ungkapnya. 

Menurut dr Raymond, meski keluarganya dokter namun berpotensi distraksi, tetap tidak diperbolehkan masuk ke ruang tindakan. 

"Selama berpotensi distraksi, kehadiran keluarga tidak dianjurkan. Kalau dari film, misalnya, ayah pasien yang juga seorang dokter menjadi histeris dan justru mengganggu proses medis,” tulis dr Raymond. 

Melansir laman RSUD Wonosari, pembatasan kunjungan di ICU juga diberlakukan dengan beberapa alasan berikut ini: 

• Risiko Infeksi
Pasien ICU memiliki sistem kekebalan tubuh yang rentan. Kehadiran banyak pengunjung dapat meningkatkan risiko penyebaran bakteri atau virus yang dapat memperburuk kondisi pasien. Meskipun prosedur sterilisasi telah diterapkan, potensi kontaminasi tetap ada dari orang yang tidak terbiasa dengan protokol kebersihan rumah sakit. 

• Keperluan Perawatan Intensif
Pasien ICU memerlukan pemantauan dan perawatan yang terus-menerus. Tim medis membutuhkan konsentrasi penuh tanpa gangguan dari pengunjung. Kehadiran keluarga yang cemas atau emosional dapat memengaruhi kondisi mental dan fisik pasien, serta menghambat proses penyembuhan. 

• Privasi Pasien
Pasien di ICU sering menjalani prosedur medis yang intensif dan memerlukan perlindungan privasi. Kehadiran pengunjung dapat mengganggu kenyamanan dan membuat pasien merasa tertekan. 

• Efisiensi Kerja Staf Medis
Mengelola kunjungan keluarga dapat menghabiskan waktu yang seharusnya difokuskan untuk perawatan pasien. Dengan pembatasan ini, staf medis dapat bekerja lebih efektif dalam menangani pasien yang memerlukan perhatian penuh.
