JATIMTIMES - Tingkat pengangguran di Jawa Timur pada Februari 2026 kembali menunjukkan tren menurun. Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Provinsi Jawa Timur mencatat Tingkat Pengangguran Terbuka (TPT) berada di angka 3,55 persen atau turun 0,06 persen poin dibanding periode yang sama tahun lalu.

Di sisi lain, jumlah penduduk bekerja justru meningkat signifikan. Hingga Februari 2026, total penduduk bekerja di Jawa Timur mencapai 24,25 juta orang atau bertambah sekitar 388,04 ribu orang dibanding Februari 2025.

Plt Kepala BPS Provinsi Jawa Timur, Herum Fajarwati, mengatakan kondisi tersebut menunjukkan pasar tenaga kerja di Jawa Timur masih bergerak positif di tengah tantangan ekonomi nasional maupun global.

“Jumlah angkatan kerja di Jawa Timur pada Februari 2026 mencapai 25,14 juta orang. Angka ini meningkat sekitar 386 ribu orang dibandingkan tahun sebelumnya,” kata Herum dalam rilis resmi BPS Jawa Timur.

Menurut data Sakernas Februari 2026, peningkatan jumlah tenaga kerja juga diikuti naiknya Tingkat Partisipasi Angkatan Kerja (TPAK) menjadi 74,78 persen atau naik 0,53 persen poin dibanding Februari 2025. Dengan demikian, semakin banyak penduduk usia kerja yang aktif terlibat dalam kegiatan ekonomi, baik bekerja maupun mencari pekerjaan.

BPS mencatat sektor Pertanian, Kehutanan, dan Perikanan masih menjadi penopang utama penyerapan tenaga kerja di Jawa Timur. Sektor ini menyerap sekitar 7,70 juta pekerja atau setara 31,76 persen dari total penduduk bekerja.

Selain itu, mayoritas masyarakat Jawa Timur bekerja sebagai buruh, karyawan, atau pegawai dengan persentase mencapai 32,05 persen.

Meski angka pengangguran menurun, BPS menyoroti masih tingginya pengangguran dari kalangan lulusan perguruan tinggi. Pada Februari 2026, lulusan universitas menjadi kelompok dengan tingkat pengangguran tertinggi mencapai 6,04 persen.

Posisi berikutnya ditempati lulusan Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) dengan tingkat pengangguran sebesar 5,75 persen.

“Fenomena ini menunjukkan adanya tantangan antara kompetensi lulusan pendidikan dengan kebutuhan pasar kerja,” jelas Herum.

Jika dilihat berdasarkan wilayah, tingkat pengangguran di daerah perkotaan tercatat lebih tinggi dibanding perdesaan. TPT perkotaan berada di angka 4,09 persen, sementara wilayah perdesaan sebesar 2,68 persen.

BPS juga mencatat pekerja formal di Jawa Timur pada Februari 2026 sebesar 35,56 persen, turun 0,53 persen poin dibanding tahun sebelumnya. Sementara pekerja informal masih mendominasi sebagian besar lapangan pekerjaan di Jawa Timur.

Dari sisi jam kerja, sebanyak 62,81 persen pekerja di Jawa Timur tergolong pekerja penuh dengan durasi kerja minimal 35 jam per minggu. Sedangkan sisanya merupakan pekerja tidak penuh yang terdiri dari setengah pengangguran dan pekerja paruh waktu.

Herum menambahkan, jumlah penduduk usia kerja di Jawa Timur saat ini mencapai 33,62 juta orang atau bertambah sekitar 280 ribu orang dibanding Februari 2025.

“Peningkatan penduduk usia kerja harus diimbangi dengan penciptaan lapangan kerja yang berkualitas agar bonus demografi dapat dimanfaatkan secara optimal,” tutupnya.
