JATIMTIMES - Dalam Liga Jatim 1 Magetan tim paralayang asal Kota Batu berhasil memperoleh beberapa medali. Kejuaraan pertama yang dilaksanakan secara offline ini sebanyak enam medali diboyong oleh atlet Kota Batu di Gunung Bungkuk, Magetan, Minggu (10/10/2021).

Enam medali itu diantaranya, satu medali emas pada kelas accurasi 19 Putra diraih Maxwell Bennen dan satu medali emas Putri diraih Syahdana Revi. Lalu meraih medali perak dari kelas Overall Accurasi lewat kepiawaian atlet Efelin Agus mengendalikan parasut. Kemudian tiga medali perunggu dari kelas accurasi putra dan putri usia 19 -21 diraih oleh tiga atlet yakni Jeannette, Ferdi dan Sandi.

Dari raihan prestasi itu, tim paralayang Kota Batu mengirimkan 28 atlet mulai dari atlet Puslat Porprov hingga pendatang baru. Meski demikian para atlet yang berlomba kali ini dihadapkan dengan cuaca.

Sebab saat pertandingan berlangsung cuaca tidak mendung, namun angin cukup deras bahkan sedikit badai menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagi atlet.

Manager dan Pelatih Paralayang Kota Batu Bayu Krisna mengatakan, hadirnya event offline pertama setelah dua tahun tidak ada perlombaan lantaran pandemi Covid-19 menjadikan para atlet itu bersemangat. Semangat ini semakin kuat, karena even ini diikuti 130 atlet yang tidak hanya berasal dari Provinsi Jawa Timur saja, tapi juga dari Provinsi lain seperti Sumbar, Jateng dan Batam.

“Atlet hanya berlatih terus tanpa event tentu hasilnya tidak bagus. Dua tahun sama sekali tidak ada event membuat anak-anak bertanding penuh semangat,” kata Bayu.

Menurutnya para atlet Paralayang Kota Batu bisa mendapatkan lebih banyak lagi medali. "Sebenarnya masih belum sesuai target, harusnya bisa lebih banyak lagi medali yang didapatkan. Ada beberapa kendala yang memang membuat kita belum mendapatkan hasil maksimal. Salah satunya kendala cuaca,” tambah Bayu.
