JATIMTIMES – Respons cepat personel Polres Situbondo berhasil mencegah aksi yang diduga berpotensi menimbulkan kekerasan dengan senjata tajam. Dua pria yang kedapatan membawa senjata tajam jenis clurit diamankan petugas di Desa Kotakan, Kecamatan Situbondo, Kabupaten Situbondo pada Selasa (21/7/2026).

Tindakan cepat aparat kepolisian dilakukan setelah menerima informasi dari masyarakat terkait adanya rencana pertemuan yang dipicu perselisihan melalui media sosial. Berkat kesigapan personel di lapangan, situasi berhasil dikendalikan sehingga tidak berkembang menjadi aksi yang membahayakan masyarakat.

Kapolres Situbondo AKBP Bayu Anuwar Sidiqie mengatakan kedua pria yang diamankan masing-masing berinisial M (40) dan R (39). Keduanya merupakan warga Kabupaten Bondowoso.

"Peristiwa ini berawal dari kesalahpahaman yang berkembang melalui media sosial hingga memicu aksi saling ejek. Berkat laporan masyarakat dan kesigapan anggota di lapangan, potensi terjadinya aksi kekerasan berhasil kami cegah sebelum terjadi," kata AKBP Bayu.

Dari hasil pemeriksaan di lokasi, penyidik Satreskrim Polres Situbondo mengamankan barang bukti berupa dua bilah senjata tajam jenis clurit, satu unit sepeda motor Yamaha Aerox, serta dua unit telepon genggam yang diduga digunakan dalam aktivitas saling provokasi melalui media sosial.

AKBP Bayu menjelaskan, setelah dilakukan pemeriksaan terhadap saksi-saksi, penyitaan barang bukti, serta gelar perkara, kedua pria tersebut resmi ditetapkan sebagai tersangka dan dilakukan penahanan.

"Berdasarkan alat bukti yang telah kami peroleh dan hasil gelar perkara, kedua orang tersebut telah ditetapkan sebagai tersangka dan saat ini dilakukan penahanan untuk proses hukum lebih lanjut," jelas AKBP Bayu.

Kedua tersangka dijerat Pasal 307 ayat (1) Undang-Undang Nomor 1 Tahun 2023 tentang Kitab Undang-Undang Hukum Pidana (KUHP) karena tanpa hak menguasai, membawa, atau memiliki senjata pemukul, penikam, atau penusuk.

AKBP Bayu juga mengimbau masyarakat agar lebih bijak menggunakan media sosial dan tidak mudah terpancing informasi maupun provokasi yang berpotensi memicu konflik.

"Kami mengimbau masyarakat untuk menyaring setiap informasi yang diterima, tidak mudah terprovokasi, serta mengedepankan penyelesaian masalah secara baik tanpa kekerasan. Apabila menemukan potensi gangguan kamtibmas, segera laporkan kepada kepolisian melalui Call Center Polri 110 agar dapat segera ditindaklanjuti," pungkasnya.
