JATIMTIMES – Kabupaten Banyuwangi terus mencatatkan kinerja positif dalam mempertahankan produktivitas sektor pertanian, terutama produksi beras. Pada Januari hingga Juni 2026 produksi beras Banyuwangi tercatat surplus sebesar 174 ribu ton.
“Alhamdulillah kinerja baik bidang pertanian khususnya tanaman pangan Banyuwangi bisa terus kami pertahankan. Produksi beras Banyuwangi dari tahun ke tahun selalu surplus. Begitu juga di semester awal tahun 2026 ini,” ujar Bupati Banyuwangi Ipuk Fiestiandani dalam rilis yang dikirim Kamis (2/7/2026).

Produksi Beras Banyuwangi pada bulan Januari hingga Juni 2026 tercatat sebanyak 255.257 ton, dengan jumlah konsumsi warga sebesar 81.252 ton. Sehingga dari selisih antara produksi dengan konsumsi terdapat surplus beras sebanyak 174 ribu ton beras
Sedangkan di tahun 2025 sebelumnya, total produksi beras Banyuwangi tahun 2025 sebesar 546.923,81 ton. Dengan konsumsi lokal masyarakat dalam satu tahun sebesar 163.665,78 ton atau surplus beras sebesar 383.258,03 ton
“Surplus beras produksi Banyuwangi sebagian didistribusikan ke berbagai daerah lain di Indonesia guna menopang cadangan pangan nasional melalui Perum Bulog,” tambah Bupati puk.
Kepala Dinas Pertanian Banyuwangi Danang Hartanto mengatakan produksi beras Banyuwangi yang mengalami surplus merupakan hasil dari sejumlah langkah strategis yang dijalankan di lapangan. Diantaranya dengan melakukan optimalisasi Luas Tanam.
“Luas baku sawah di Banyuwangi tercatat di angka 62.940 hektare. Namun, melalui optimalisasi, luas tanam, berhasil ditingkatkan hingga mencapai 121.319 hektare pada tahun 2025,” ujar Danang.

Selain itu juga dilakukan dengan upaya Peningkatan Indeks Pertanaman (IP). Yakni dengan mendorong intensifikasi lahan. Sawah yang dulunya hanya bisa ditanami padi 1–2 kali dalam setahun ditingkatkan menjadi 3 hingga 4 kali tanam setahun.
Pemerintah Banyuwangi, lanjut Danang, juga mendorong mekanisasi dan efisiensi lewat penggunaan alat dan mesin pertanian (alsintan) modern.
Selain itu, pihaknya juga memberikan memfasilitasi petani dengan mengeluarkan rekomendasi pembelian BBM solar untuk alat-alat pertanian. “Dengan mekanisasi membantu mempercepat proses masa tanam hingga panen raya, sehingga menekan risiko gagal panen atau kerugian pascaproduksi,” pungkasnya.
