JATIMTIMES – Polisi berhasil mengungkap kasus tindak pidana pencurian uang kotak amal yang terjadi di Masjid Al Falah, Desa Joho, Kecamatan Kalidawir, Kabupaten Tulungagung. Selain kasus pencurian, pelaku juga diamankan karena kedapatan menyimpan dan membawa senjata tajam tanpa izin. Pelaku diketahui berinisial MWM (32), warga Kecamatan Rejotangan, Kabupaten Tulungagung.
"Yang bersangkutan diamankan setelah penyelidikan yang dilakukan oleh Unit Reskrim Polsek Kalidawir berdasarkan laporan masyarakat dan rekaman CCTV masjid," kata Kasihumas Polres Tulungagung, Iptu Nanang Murdianto, Senin (22/6/2026).

Sementara itu, Kapolsek Kalidawir Iptu Bambang Kurniawan menjelaskan, kasus tersebut diketahui pada Senin, 15 Juni 2026 sekitar pukul 04.30 WIB saat pengurus dan warga selesai melaksanakan Salat Subuh. Saat melintas di area masjid, mereka mendapati kotak amal yang berada di dekat pintu masuk utama dalam kondisi rusak dan terbuka secara paksa.
“Setelah dilakukan pengecekan, uang yang berada di dalam kotak amal diketahui telah hilang. Selanjutnya pengurus masjid bersama saksi memeriksa rekaman CCTV dan terlihat seorang laki-laki melakukan aksi pencurian tersebut”, terangnya.
Berdasarkan hasil penyelidikan, petugas berhasil mengidentifikasi dan mengamankan pelaku berikut sejumlah barang bukti yang digunakan maupun hasil tindak pidana.
Dari tangan pelaku, polisi mengamankan: Uang tunai sebesar Rp715.000, 1 unit sepeda motor Honda Beat warna merah, Jaket hoodie warna abu-abu, celana pendek warna biru dongker, masker warna hijau tua, Pisau yang digunakan untuk mencongkel kotak amal beserta wadahnya, Plastik hitam yang digunakan untuk menyimpan uang hasil pencurian.
Dari hasil pemeriksaan, pelaku mengakui melakukan aksinya dengan memanfaatkan situasi masjid yang sepi. Pelaku membawa pisau dari rumah dan menggunakannya untuk mencongkel bagian atas kotak amal sebelum mengambil seluruh uang yang ada di dalamnya.
“Pelaku melakukan pencurian dengan cara merusak kotak amal menggunakan pisau yang dibawanya. Selain itu, pelaku juga kedapatan membawa dan menyimpan senjata tajam tanpa hak sehingga turut diproses sesuai ketentuan hukum yang berlaku”, jelas IPTU Bambang Kurniawan.

Atas perbuatannya, pelaku dijerat dengan Pasal 477 ayat (1) huruf f Undang-Undang Nomor 1 Tahun 2023 tentang KUHP terkait pencurian, serta Pasal 2 ayat (1) Undang-Undang Darurat RI Nomor 12 Tahun 1951 tentang kepemilikan atau penguasaan senjata tajam tanpa izin yang sah.
Kapolsek Kalidawir mengimbau masyarakat untuk meningkatkan kewaspadaan terhadap lingkungan sekitar, termasuk tempat ibadah, serta segera melaporkan kepada pihak kepolisian apabila mengetahui atau menemukan adanya tindak pidana maupun aktivitas mencurigakan.
“Keberhasilan pengungkapan ini merupakan bentuk komitmen Polri dalam memberikan perlindungan kepada masyarakat dan menjaga keamanan di lingkungan, termasuk tempat-tempat ibadah," pungkas Iptu Bambang Kurniawan.
