JATIMTIMES - Kemampuan teknik dan strategi bertanding kerap menjadi tolok ukur utama dalam menilai kualitas seorang atlet. Namun di balik berbagai prestasi yang diraih, terdapat faktor mendasar yang sering luput dari perhatian, yakni kebugaran fisik. Padahal, kondisi tubuh yang prima menjadi fondasi penting agar kemampuan teknis dapat ditampilkan secara maksimal dan konsisten dalam setiap pertandingan.
Kesadaran akan pentingnya aspek tersebut mendorong UKM Pencak Silat Pagar Nusa Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim (UIN Maliki) Malang menggelar Seminar Edukasi Kebugaran Atlet di Aula Sidang UIN Maliki Malang belum lama ini. Kegiatan yang diikuti 30 peserta itu diarahkan untuk memperkuat pemahaman atlet mengenai hubungan erat antara kebugaran, performa, dan pencapaian prestasi olahraga.
Di tengah tuntutan kompetisi yang semakin ketat, atlet tidak hanya dituntut menguasai teknik bertanding, tetapi juga menjaga kondisi fisik agar tetap optimal sepanjang musim latihan dan kompetisi. Tidak sedikit atlet yang mengalami penurunan performa akibat kurangnya perhatian terhadap kebugaran, mulai dari kelelahan berkepanjangan hingga meningkatnya risiko cedera yang dapat menghambat proses pembinaan prestasi.

Materi seminar disampaikan oleh Zahirul Himam, atlet sekaligus pelatih UKM Pencak Silat Pagar Nusa UIN Malang yang memiliki pengalaman bertanding di berbagai kejuaraan pencak silat. Ia juga pernah menorehkan prestasi pada ajang Pekan Olahraga Mahasiswa Provinsi (Pomprov) Jawa Timur. Dalam paparannya, Zahirul menekankan bahwa kebugaran bukan sekadar pelengkap program latihan, melainkan bagian integral dari proses pembentukan atlet berprestasi.
Menurutnya, kemampuan teknik yang baik tidak akan menghasilkan performa maksimal apabila tidak didukung kondisi fisik yang memadai. Sebaliknya, atlet yang memiliki tingkat kebugaran baik akan lebih mampu menjalani program latihan secara konsisten, memiliki daya tahan yang lebih kuat saat bertanding, serta mampu menjaga kualitas penampilan dalam jangka panjang.
“Kebugaran seorang atlet merupakan bentuk komitmen untuk meraih prestasi,” ujar Zahirul Himam.
Ia menjelaskan bahwa kebugaran harus dipandang sebagai investasi jangka panjang. Disiplin menjaga pola hidup sehat, mengatur waktu istirahat, memperhatikan asupan gizi, serta menjalani latihan fisik secara terukur merupakan bagian dari upaya mempertahankan performa atlet secara berkelanjutan.

Antusiasme peserta terlihat sepanjang kegiatan berlangsung. Selain mengikuti pemaparan materi, para atlet juga aktif berdiskusi mengenai berbagai tantangan yang mereka hadapi dalam menjaga kondisi fisik di tengah padatnya aktivitas latihan maupun perkuliahan. Pengalaman menghadapi kelelahan, menjaga konsistensi pola hidup sehat, hingga strategi memulihkan kondisi tubuh setelah latihan menjadi topik yang banyak dibahas dalam forum tersebut.
Diskusi itu menunjukkan bahwa persoalan kebugaran bukan hanya berkaitan dengan kekuatan fisik semata, tetapi juga menyangkut kesadaran, disiplin, dan manajemen diri. Faktor-faktor tersebut sering kali menjadi pembeda antara atlet yang mampu menjaga performa dalam jangka panjang dan mereka yang kesulitan mempertahankan konsistensi prestasi.
Melalui seminar ini, UKM Pencak Silat Pagar Nusa UIN Malang berharap para atlet memiliki pemahaman yang lebih komprehensif mengenai pentingnya kebugaran sebagai fondasi prestasi. Dengan kondisi fisik yang optimal, atlet tidak hanya mampu meningkatkan kualitas latihan dan performa pertandingan, tetapi juga memperbesar peluang untuk terus mengharumkan nama kampus melalui berbagai capaian di tingkat regional maupun nasional.
