JATIMTIMES - Suhu udara dingin mulai menyelimuti Kota Malang mulai akhir Mei hingga memasuki Juni 2026. Fenomena yang dikenal masyarakat sebagai 'bediding' tersebut kini semakin terasa, terutama pada malam hingga pagi hari, dan diperkirakan akan berlangsung lebih intens dalam beberapa bulan mendatang.
Kepala BPBD (Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah) Kota Malang Prayitno mengatakan, fenomena bediding tahun ini berpotensi lebih kuat dibandingkan biasanya karena terjadi bersamaan dengan pengaruh El Nino. Kondisi tersebut dapat memicu anomali cuaca berupa suhu yang lebih dingin pada malam hari dan lebih panas saat siang.

“Penurunan suhu terjadi karena minimnya tutupan awan saat musim kemarau, sehingga panas yang tersimpan di permukaan Bumi pada siang hari lebih cepat terlepas ke atmosfer pada malam hari. Selain itu, angin muson timur dari Australia juga membawa massa udara yang lebih kering dan dingin ke wilayah Indonesia,” ujar Prayitno, Senin (1/6/2026).
Menurut dia, minimnya awan selama musim kemarau membuat pelepasan panas dari permukaan Bumi berlangsung lebih cepat ketika malam tiba. Akibatnya, suhu udara pada dini hari hingga pagi hari terasa lebih rendah dibandingkan periode sebelumnya.
Menyikapi kondisi tersebut, BPBD Kota Malang mengimbau masyarakat untuk lebih memperhatikan kesehatan dan meningkatkan kewaspadaan selama fenomena bediding berlangsung.
"Masyarakat diimbau menggunakan pakaian hangat saat malam dan pagi hari, menjaga daya tahan tubuh, serta mengurangi aktivitas yang berisiko terpapar udara dingin secara berlebihan," imbuhnya.
Prayitno menegaskan bahwa masyarakat tidak perlu panik menghadapi fenomena musiman tersebut. Namun, kewaspadaan tetap diperlukan, khususnya bagi kelompok rentan yang lebih mudah terdampak perubahan suhu ekstrem.
"Yang perlu diperhatikan adalah kesehatan masyarakat, khususnya anak-anak, lansia, dan warga yang memiliki riwayat penyakit pernapasan. Suhu dingin dapat meningkatkan risiko gangguan kesehatan apabila tidak diantisipasi dengan baik," ujarnya.

Tak hanya berdampak pada kesehatan, fenomena bediding juga berpotensi memengaruhi sektor pertanian dan peternakan. Di wilayah dataran tinggi, suhu yang sangat rendah dapat memicu terbentuknya embun es atau bun upas yang berisiko merusak tanaman pertanian.
Karena itu, BPBD Kota Malang turut mengingatkan para petani dan peternak agar melakukan langkah antisipasi sejak dini guna mengurangi potensi kerugian akibat cuaca dingin yang lebih ekstrem.
"Kami berharap masyarakat terus memantau informasi cuaca dan melakukan langkah-langkah pencegahan sesuai kondisi di wilayah masing-masing," pungkas Prayitno.
