JATIMTIMES - Prestasi membanggakan kembali ditorehkan siswa SMAN 2 Kota Malang pada tahun 2026. Hingga akhir Mei, sebanyak 97 siswa sekolah tersebut telah diterima di berbagai perguruan tinggi negeri (PTN) melalui sejumlah jalur seleksi.
Berdasarkan data sekolah, penerimaan mahasiswa baru di PTN terdiri atas 35 siswa melalui jalur Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Prestasi (SNBP), 58 siswa melalui Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Tes (SNBT), dan empat siswa melalui jalur seleksi lainnya. Dengan demikian, total siswa yang telah diterima di PTN mencapai 97 orang.

Selain capaian di dalam negeri, SMAN 2 Kota Malang juga mencatat keberhasilan di tingkat internasional. Hingga saat ini, satu siswa dipastikan diterima di Monash University Malaysia.
Sementara itu, terdapat tiga siswa lainnya yang telah mendaftar ke perguruan tinggi luar negeri dan masih menunggu hasil seleksi. Pengumuman penerimaan dijadwalkan berlangsung pada Juni 2026.
Capaian tersebut menambah panjang daftar prestasi akademik SMAN 2 Kota Malang dalam mengantarkan lulusannya melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi, baik di dalam maupun luar negeri.
Minggu 31 Mei 2026, para siswa itu menjalani Purnawiyata Ke-73 SMAN 2 Kota Malang. Total 338 siswa kelas XII mengikuti purnawiyata yang digelar di Ascent Premiere Hotel and Convention.
Kepala SMAN 2 Kota Malang Eny Retno Diwati MPd menyampaikan rasa bangganya atas capaian para siswa yang telah menyelesaikan pendidikan di sekolah tersebut. Ia berharap prestasi yang diraih SMAN 2 Kota Malang dapat terus meningkat pada masa mendatang.
Dalam kesempatan itu, Eny juga berpesan kepada seluruh lulusan agar terus berkarya dan memberikan yang terbaik di mana pun mereka berada. Menurut dia, semangat belajar harus tetap dijaga meski telah menyelesaikan pendidikan di tingkat SMA. “Jaga semangat, terus belajar, jangan putus asa,” pesannya kepada para peserta Purnawiyata Ke-73.

Eny menambahkan, sekolah menantikan kabar baik dari para lulusan beberapa tahun mendatang. Ia berharap seluruh alumni dapat meraih kesuksesan di berbagai bidang profesi dan memberikan kontribusi positif bagi masyarakat. “Beberapa tahun lagi, SMAN 2 menunggu cerita bahwa kalian semua sudah menjadi orang sukses, apa pun profesinya. Orang yang punya kontribusi positif,” ujarnya.
Ketua Komite SMAN 2 Kota Malang Prof Dr Nur Asnawi MAg juga menggaungkan semangat kepada para lulusan dalam menuju kesuksesan. Guru besar UIN Malik Ibrahim Malang ini mengibaratkan orang menanam dengan hasil yang bakal diraih.
Menurut Prof Nur Asnawi, jika ingin panen dalam waktu tiga bulan, maka tanamlah sayur. Kalau ingin panen dalam waktu empat tahun, tanamlah pohon buah. Namun, bila ingin sukses dalam kehidupan ke depan, tanamlah pendidikan. "Para siswa sudah menempuh pendidikan, belajar di SMAN 2. Itu salah satu warisan paling berharga yang membentuk karakter, kecerdasan, dan masa depan," ungkapnya.
Purnawiyata Ke-73 juga diwarnai pesan dan kesan dari para lulusan yang disampaikan dalam enam bahasa. Yakni bahasa Indonesia, Jawa, Inggris, Jerman, Jepang, dan bahasa Mandarin. Wakil para lulusan dengan fasih menyampaikan pidato dalam enam bahasa itu. Hal tersebut membuktikan kualitas pembelajaran bahasa di Smanda, sebutan SMAN 2 Kota Malang.
