JATIMTIMES - Bupati Banyuwangi Ipuk Fiestiandani mengapresiasi komitmen masyarakat Osing Desa Kemiren, Kecamatan Glagah yang terus menjaga dan melestarikan tradisi leluhur "Tumpeng Sewu", di tengah gempuran modernisasi dan perkembangan zaman. 

Menurut Bupati Ipuk keterlibatan warga yang secara sukarela menyiapkan ribuan tumpeng untuk dinikmati bersama menjadi bukti kuatnya solidaritas sosial masyarakat. Tradisi masyarakat Osing tersebut mencerminkan kuatnya nilai gotong royong dan kebersamaan yang terus dijaga hingga kini.

“Ini adalah bagian kekuatan lokal yang akan terus kita promosikan. Budaya gotong royong seperti ini tidak dimiliki semua daerah. Ini merupakan kelebihan Desa Kemiren yang harus terus dilestarikan,” ujar Bupati Ipuk.

Bupati kelahiran Magelang tersebut hadir bersama Forkopimda dan pejabat teras Banyuwangi menikmati pecel pitik dan tumpeng bersama masyarakat dan wisatawan, menilai tradisi yang terus dijaga menjadi salah satu simbol kekuatan budaya lokal yang dimiliki kabupaten yang ada di ujung timur Pulau Jawa ini. 

Sebagai salah satu kekayaan ritual adat istiadat dan tradisi luhur turun temurun, warga Desa Kemiren, Kecamatan Glagah, Banyuwangi, kembali menggelar tradisi Tumpeng Sewu, Kamis malam (21/5/2026). 

Ribuan warga sekitar  bersama pengunjung dan wisatawan nusantara maupun mancanegara memadati area sepanjang jalan desa, untuk menikmati sajian makanan khas masyarakat Osing  tumpeng, pecel pitik dan beberapa menu tradisional lain dengan kebersamaan dalam suasana guyub rukun dan bahagia.

Tumpeng Sewu merupakan ritual turun-temurun masyarakat Osing sebagai bentuk rasa syukur kepada Tuhan. Tradisi ini rutin digelar setiap tahun sepekan sebelum Hari Raya Idul Adha.

Dalam pelaksanaannya, warga menyajikan ribuan tumpeng lengkap dengan lauk khas Osing berupa pecel pitik dan lalapan. Pecel pitik merupakan olahan ayam kampung panggang dengan parutan kelapa dan bumbu khas Osing yang menjadi menu wajib dalam tradisi tersebut.

Acara tersebut bukan hanya diikuti warga lokal, namun tidak sedikit wisatawan yang ikut menikmati suasana kebersamaan yang tercipta selama acara berlangsung.

“Beruntung saya bisa menjadi bagian dari tradisi ini. Makanannya enak, cocok di lidah. Masyarakatnya juga sopan dan ramah. Saya senang bisa ke sini,” ujar Adam, wisatawan asal Republik Ceko.

Pengunjung asal Semarang, Ati, juga mengaku terkesan dengan kebersamaan,  gotong royong dan kerukunan masyarakat Desa Kemiren. “Warganya rukun dan guyub. Masakannya juga lezat. Tadi sampai nambah dua kali,” ujarnya.
 
Sebelum acara  makan bersama dimulai, warga terlebih dahulu menggelar ritual adat Ider Bumi dengan mengarak barong mengelilingi desa. Barong diberangkatkan dari dua arah berbeda, timur dan barat, lalu bertemu di depan Balai Desa Kemiren.

Warga kemudian menggelar doa bersama sebagai ungkapan rasa syukur dan  memohon keselamatan serta dijauhkan dari musibah bala bencana dan penyakit.

Rangkaian ritual adat dan tradisi masyarakat Osing  juga diisi ritual mepe (menjemur) kasur dan Mocoan Lontar Yusup semalam suntuk. Tradisi pembacaan naskah kuno tentang kisah Nabi Yusuf tersebut diyakini sebagai bentuk selamatan dan tolak bala.

“Ini merupakan wujud syukur kami kepada Allah atas limpahan rezeki selama satu tahun, sekaligus doa agar kami selalu diberi keselamatan dan dihindarkan dari bala,” ujar Kepala Desa Kemiren, Muhammad Arifin.

Pelestarian budaya yang konsisten membuat Desa Kemiren mendapat berbagai penghargaan nasional hingga internasional. Pada 2025, desa tersebut meraih The 5th ASEAN Homestay Award dalam ajang ASEAN Tourism Award di Malaysia.

Di tahun yang sama, Desa Kemiren juga masuk jaringan desa wisata terbaik Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (PBB). Selain itu, desa ini meraih juara II Anugerah Desa Wisata Indonesia (ADWI) 2024 kategori Kelembagaan dan SDM dari Kementerian Pariwisata RI.
