JATIMTIMES - Musim kemarau 2026 diperkirakan akan berlangsung lebih kering dibanding tahun sebelumnya. Sejumlah daerah di Jawa Timur pun mulai bersiap menghadapi ancaman kekeringan yang berpotensi meluas dalam beberapa bulan ke depan.
Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) sebelumnya memprediksi sebagian wilayah Jawa Timur mulai memasuki musim kemarau pada Mei hingga Juni 2026. Kondisi tersebut membuat sejumlah pemerintah daerah mulai menetapkan status siaga kekeringan lebih awal.

Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) Jawa Timur mencatat sedikitnya lima kabupaten telah menetapkan status siaga kekeringan. Daerah tersebut meliputi:
• Bangkalan
• Banyuwangi
• Bondowoso
• Lamongan
• Lumajang
Kepala Pelaksana (Kalaksa) BPBD Jatim Gatot Soebroto mengatakan, pemerintah daerah di lima kabupaten tersebut telah menerbitkan Surat Keputusan (SK) Kedaruratan Kekeringan sebagai langkah antisipasi menghadapi musim kemarau.
Menurut Gatot, BPBD Jatim saat ini juga mulai melakukan pemetaan wilayah yang masuk kategori kekeringan ekstrem untuk percepatan distribusi bantuan air bersih kepada warga terdampak.
“Sejauh ini kami telah mendistribusikan air bersih ke Kabupaten Bondowoso, tepatnya di Kecamatan Botolinggo, Desa Kleken. Kami mengirimkan 10.000 liter air bersih dan di sana ada sekitar 140 KK terdampak,” ujar Gatot, Jumat (15/5/2026).
BPBD Jatim memperkirakan ancaman kekeringan tahun ini akan jauh lebih luas dibanding 2025. Sebanyak 916 desa yang tersebar di 29 kabupaten diprediksi berpotensi mengalami krisis air bersih selama musim kemarau berlangsung.
Karena itu, masyarakat diminta aktif melaporkan wilayah yang mulai mengalami kesulitan air bersih kepada BPBD setempat agar penanganan dapat dilakukan lebih cepat.
“Kami terus mengimbau warga untuk aktif melaporkan titik kekeringan ke BPBD setempat. Kami akan tindak lanjuti untuk menyalurkan air bersih, karena diprediksi musim kemarau 2026 ini lebih kering dibanding tahun lalu,” jelasnya.
Sebagai perbandingan, sepanjang tahun 2025 tercatat ada 129 desa di 12 kabupaten terdampak kekeringan. Selain itu, BPBD Jatim juga mencatat adanya kebakaran lahan seluas 44,3 hektare dan tiga kejadian kebakaran hutan selama periode tersebut.

Selain fokus pada penanganan kekeringan, BPBD Jatim juga memperkuat upaya mitigasi bencana melalui pembentukan Desa Tangguh Bencana (Destana) di 38 kabupaten/kota se-Jawa Timur.
Program Destana dimulai dari wilayah Mataraman, meliputi Kabupaten Tulungagung, Magetan, Trenggalek, Kabupaten Madiun, hingga Kota Madiun. Lokasi pembentukan Destana antara lain:
• Desa Panjerejo, Kecamatan Rejotangan, Kabupaten Tulungagung
• Desa Jabung, Kecamatan Panekan, Kabupaten Magetan
• Desa Timahan, Kecamatan Kampak, Kabupaten Trenggalek
• Desa Nglanduk, Kecamatan Wungu, Kabupaten Madiun
• Kelurahan Patihan, Kecamatan Manguharjo, Kota Madiun
Gatot menegaskan, pembentukan Destana menjadi bagian dari upaya meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan masyarakat dalam menghadapi berbagai potensi bencana, termasuk kekeringan dan kebakaran lahan saat musim kemarau.
“Sebagaimana arahan Ibu Gubernur, kesiapsiagaan adalah prioritas utama di setiap lapisan masyarakat. Destana ini merupakan salah satu bentuk langkah konkret dari pemerintah kepada masyarakat untuk membangun masyarakat yang siap siaga, tanggap dan tangguh terhadap setiap ancaman bencana,” terangnya.
Dalam setiap kegiatan pembentukan Destana, BPBD Jatim juga menyalurkan bantuan 100 bibit pohon produktif seperti durian, alpukat, kelengkeng, dan jambu air.
Bantuan bibit tersebut diharapkan dapat menjadi langkah mitigasi vegetatif untuk menjaga kondisi lingkungan, membantu penyerapan air di kawasan rawan kekeringan, sekaligus memberikan manfaat ekonomi bagi masyarakat desa setempat.
