JATIMTIMES – DPRD Provinsi Jawa Timur (Jatim) mendesak pemerintah daerah untuk melakukan langkah ekstra dalam mengawasi lalu lintas ternak menjelang Hari Raya Iduladha 1447 Hijriah. Demikian disampaikan Anggota Komisi B DPRD Jatim, Khusnul Khuluk.
Ia menekankan, pengetatan pengawasan di pasar-pasar hewanmenjadi harga mati guna memastikan seluruh hewan kurban yang beredar dalam kondisi sehat dan bebas dari ancaman Penyakit Mulut dan Kuku (PMK). Ia menegaskan bahwa kewaspadaan terhadap PMK tidak boleh kendur.

Hal ini didasari atas temuan di lapangan yang menunjukkan bahwa virus yang menyerang hewan berkuku belah tersebut masih terdeteksi di sejumlah titik wilayah Jatim.
“Tentu kita sebagai kaum muslimin perlu waspada terhadap PMK, penyakit mulut dan kaki pada hewan berkaki empat ini, terutama kambing, domba, dan sapi,” ujar legislator dari Fraksi PKS tersebut, Rabu (13/5/2026).
Khusnul memberikan catatan kritis terkait dinamika sebaran penyakit menjelang musim kurban tahun ini. Ia menilai, di beberapa wilayah, kondisi sebaran PMK justru menunjukkan tren yang mengkhawatirkan karena risikonya dianggap tidak lebih ringan, bahkan bisa lebih fatal dibandingkan periode sebelumnya.
“Pemerintah harus sering mengoptimalkan kunjungan ke pasar-pasar hewan untuk memantau sejauh mana PMK ini masih ada di Jawa Timur. Karena sepengetahuan saya masih ada beberapa daerah yang terjangkit PMK, bahkan kadang lebih parah dari tahun-tahun sebelumnya,” ungkap Khusnul.
Selain mendorong instansi terkait seperti dinas peternakan untuk meningkatkan intensitas pemantauan, Komisi B juga mengimbau masyarakat untuk menjadi konsumen yang cerdas. Masyarakat diminta memahami ciri fisik hewan yang terindikasi sakit agar tidak merugi saat memilih hewan kurban.
Menurut Khusnul, ada tanda-tanda klinis sederhana yang bisa dipantau langsung oleh masyarakat sebelum bertransaksi. “Kalau mulut hewan kurban sudah agak bengkak, apalagi mengeluarkan air liur seperti sariawan, maka ini perlu dihindari. Begitu juga kalau di kaki ada bengkak atau luka,” jelasnya.

Intervensi kesehatan hewan diharapkan tetap berlanjut hingga hari penyembelihan. Petugas kesehatan hewan diminta rutin menyambangi kantong-kantong pemotongan, baik di Rumah Pemotongan Hewan (RPH) maupun lokasi penyembelihan mandiri di lingkungan masjid dan pemukiman.
Khusnul menekankan pentingnya pemeriksaan bagian dalam hewan (jeroan) sebelum dikonsumsi oleh warga. Hal ini bertujuan untuk menjamin keamanan pangan dan mencegah risiko gangguan kesehatan pada masyarakat.
“Biasanya petugas peternakan dan kesehatan hewan rutin menyambangi daerah-daerah yang banyak pelaksanaan penyembelihan kurbannya untuk memastikan hewan aman dikonsumsi. Kalau memang membahayakan, ada beberapa bagian yang harus dibuang. Biasanya jeroannya disarankan tidak dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat,” pungkasnya.
