JATIMTIMES - Warga Desa Kaliwungu, Kecamatan Ngunut, Kabupaten Tulungagung, digemparkan dengan penemuan mayat seorang perempuan lanjut usia di area sungai kering pada Senin (11/05/2026) pagi. Penemuan tersebut langsung membuat warga sekitar berdatangan ke lokasi karena korban diketahui sebelumnya sempat dilaporkan hilang beberapa hari lalu.
Korban diketahui berinisial S (83), warga Desa Kaliwungu, Kecamatan Ngunut. Lansia tersebut selama ini diketahui tinggal seorang diri di rumahnya. Selain itu, korban juga disebut sudah dalam kondisi pikun sehingga membuat warga khawatir saat dirinya tidak terlihat selama beberapa hari terakhir.

Berdasarkan keterangan Kapolsek Ngunut, KOMPOL Tri Nuartiko, menjelaskan bahwa penemuan mayat bermula ketika seorang warga bernama Suyoto (74) sedang mencari rumput untuk pakan ternak di sekitar lokasi kejadian sekitar pukul 09.00 WIB.
Saat berada di dekat sungai kering, saksi mencium bau tidak sedap yang cukup menyengat. Karena penasaran, saksi kemudian mencoba mencari sumber bau tersebut hingga akhirnya menemukan sesosok tubuh perempuan dalam kondisi terlentang.
“Saksi mencium bau tidak sedap, lalu mencari sumber bau tersebut dan menemukan seorang perempuan dalam kondisi terlentang di sungai kering,” ujar KOMPOL Tri Nuartiko.
Temuan itu langsung dilaporkan kepada warga dan perangkat desa setempat. Tidak lama kemudian, anggota Polsek Ngunut bersama perangkat desa mendatangi lokasi untuk melakukan pengecekan.
Setelah dilakukan identifikasi awal, diketahui bahwa korban merupakan S, lansia yang sebelumnya telah dilaporkan hilang sejak Jumat (08/05/2026). Kabar hilangnya korban sempat membuat warga sekitar ikut melakukan pencarian di sejumlah lokasi dekat rumah korban.
Di lokasi kejadian, korban ditemukan mengenakan daster berwarna merah muda dengan motif bunga-bunga. Posisi tubuh korban terlentang dengan kepala menghadap ke arah utara. Kondisi tersebut membuat suasana di sekitar lokasi menjadi haru, terlebih banyak warga yang mengenal korban sebagai sosok lansia yang hidup sederhana.
Menurut keterangan warga sekitar, korban sehari-hari tinggal sendirian tanpa pendamping keluarga di rumahnya. Karena faktor usia, korban juga diketahui mengalami pikun sehingga sering lupa arah dan sulit mengenali keadaan sekitar.
Warga terakhir kali melihat korban pada Rabu (06/05/2026). Saat itu korban masih terlihat beraktivitas seperti biasa di sekitar rumahnya. Namun setelah itu, korban tidak lagi terlihat hingga akhirnya dilaporkan hilang oleh warga dan perangkat desa.

Petugas kepolisian bersama Tim Inafis Polres Tulungagung kemudian melakukan olah tempat kejadian perkara (TKP). Selain itu, tenaga medis dari RSUD dr. Iskak Tulungagung juga diterjunkan untuk melakukan pemeriksaan terhadap jenazah korban.
Pemeriksaan dilakukan untuk memastikan penyebab meninggalnya korban. Polisi juga memeriksa kondisi tubuh korban secara menyeluruh guna memastikan ada atau tidaknya tanda kekerasan.
“Hasil pemeriksaan sementara tidak ditemukan tanda-tanda kekerasan pada tubuh korban dan diduga korban meninggal karena sakit,” jelas KOMPOL Tri Nuartiko.
Dari hasil pemeriksaan sementara, polisi tidak menemukan adanya unsur tindak kriminal dalam kejadian tersebut. Dugaan sementara korban meninggal dunia karena kondisi kesehatan dan faktor usia lanjut.
Peristiwa ini pun menjadi perhatian warga sekitar. Banyak warga mengaku merasa sedih atas kejadian tersebut. Mereka mengenal korban sebagai pribadi yang sederhana dan jarang berinteraksi jauh karena kondisi kesehatannya yang sudah menurun.
Setelah proses pemeriksaan selesai dilakukan, jenazah korban kemudian diserahkan kepada pihak keluarga untuk dimakamkan. Suasana duka pun menyelimuti rumah korban saat warga berdatangan memberikan belasungkawa.
