JATIMTIMES – Menjelang Hari Raya Iduladha 2026, ketersediaan hewan kurban di Jawa Timur (Jatim) dipastikan dalam kondisi aman, bahkan surplus. Namun di balik melimpahnya pasokan ternak tersebut, terdapat persoalan yang tak kalah serius.
Harga domba di tingkat peternak terus merosot dan dinilai semakin menekan usaha peternakan rakyat. Hal ini mendapat sorotan tajam dari anggota Komisi B DPRD Jatim Khusnul Khuluk.

Legislator Fraksi PKS ini mengatakan bahwa surplus stok ternak sebenarnya menjadi indikator positif bagi sektor peternakan di Jatim. Kondisi tersebut menunjukkan kapasitas produksi peternak lokal tetap terjaga, sekaligus mencerminkan pembinaan sektor peternakan yang berjalan cukup baik.
“Alhamdulillah, stok hewan kurban di Jawa Timur dipastikan surplus. Ini menunjukkan keberhasilan Dinas Peternakan Jawa Timur dalam mengembangkan sektor peternakan, baik sapi maupun domba,” ujar Khusnul, Jumat (8/5/2026).
Namun, di tengah keberhasilan menjaga pasokan, Khusnul mengingatkan masih ada persoalan mendasar di tingkat peternak, khususnya pada komoditas domba. Menurutnya, harga jual yang terus melemah dalam beberapa tahun terakhir membuat margin usaha peternak kecil semakin tergerus.
Ia menilai kondisi ini menjadi paradoks. Produksi ternak melimpah, tetapi daya tawar peternak justru melemah akibat harga pasar yang terus turun.
“Kondisi harga domba sangat memprihatinkan. Di daerah saya, domba 20 kilogram harganya sekitar Rp500 ribu. Bahkan anakan domba hanya dihargai Rp100 ribu sampai Rp150 ribu, hampir setara harga ayam jago,” ungkapnya.
Menurut Khusnul, harga tersebut jauh dari ideal jika dibandingkan dengan biaya pakan, perawatan, dan waktu pemeliharaan yang harus dikeluarkan peternak. Jika situasi ini terus berlanjut tanpa intervensi kebijakan, peternak rakyat dikhawatirkan kehilangan insentif untuk mempertahankan usaha ternaknya.
Karena itu, ia mendorong Pemerintah Provinsi Jatim tidak hanya fokus menjaga ketersediaan stok, tetapi juga memperkuat sisi hilir, mulai dari stabilisasi harga, distribusi, hingga perluasan akses pasar.
Di tengah tekanan harga domba, Khusnul menyebut kondisi berbeda terjadi pada komoditas sapi. Menurutnya, harga sapi hingga saat ini masih relatif stabil dan tetap memberikan keuntungan yang sehat bagi peternak.

“Yang paling menggembirakan bagi peternak saat ini adalah sapi, karena harganya masih stabil dan cukup baik,” kata legislator asal Dapil Jatim V Lumajang-Jember ini.
Selain persoalan ekonomi peternak, Khusnul juga mengajak masyarakat Muslim yang memiliki kemampuan ekonomi untuk menunaikan ibadah kurban tahun ini. Menurutnya, kurban bukan hanya memiliki dimensi spiritual, tetapi juga berdampak langsung pada perputaran ekonomi masyarakat.
“Berkurban bukan hanya menjalankan sunnah Rasulullah dan perintah Allah, tetapi juga membantu masyarakat yang membutuhkan sekaligus menggerakkan ekonomi peternak,” ujarnya.
Ia juga berharap Pemprov Jatim melalui dinas terkait dapat lebih agresif membuka pasar baru bagi peternak lokal, termasuk memperluas distribusi ternak ke luar daerah yang memiliki kebutuhan tinggi.
“Kami berharap ada peran aktif pemerintah daerah melalui dinas terkait untuk mencarikan pasar di luar Jawa Timur, misalnya ke Kalimantan atau provinsi lain, sehingga hasil jerih payah peternak benar-benar bisa dinikmati,” pungkasnya.
DPRD Jatim menilai, menjaga surplus stok hewan kurban memang penting. Namun yang tak kalah krusial adalah memastikan peternak mendapatkan harga yang layak, sehingga pertumbuhan sektor peternakan tidak hanya kuat dari sisi produksi, tetapi juga benar-benar menyejahterakan pelaku usaha di akar rumput.
