JATIMTIMES - Kenaikan harga plastik belakangan ini mulai terasa dalam aktivitas harian. Dari belanja di pasar hingga membeli makanan dan minuman, biaya tambahan akibat penggunaan plastik makin tidak bisa diabaikan. Kondisi ini membuat banyak orang mulai mencari cara untuk tetap hemat tanpa harus mengubah gaya hidup secara drastis.

Di sisi lain, situasi ini justru bisa menjadi momentum untuk beralih ke kebiasaan yang lebih ramah lingkungan. Dengan beberapa langkah sederhana, penggunaan plastik bisa dikurangi sekaligus membantu menekan pengeluaran.

Bawa Tas Belanja Sendiri

Kantong plastik masih menjadi pilihan utama saat berbelanja, padahal penggunaannya sangat tinggi di seluruh dunia. Tanpa disadari, kebiasaan ini juga membuat pengeluaran bertambah sedikit demi sedikit.

Membawa tas belanja sendiri berbahan kain seperti katun atau kanvas bisa jadi solusi yang jauh lebih hemat. Tas jenis ini lebih kuat, bisa dipakai berulang kali, dan tidak mudah rusak. Untuk belanja sayur atau buah, kantong jaring atau pouch kecil dari kain juga bisa menggantikan plastik sekali pakai.

Gunakan Botol Minum Isi Ulang

Botol plastik sekali pakai menjadi salah satu sumber pengeluaran yang sering dianggap sepele. Padahal, jika dikalkulasikan dalam setahun, jumlahnya bisa cukup besar.

Mengganti dengan botol minum isi ulang berbahan stainless steel, kaca, atau silikon bukan hanya lebih awet, tetapi juga lebih aman untuk digunakan dalam jangka panjang. Selain menghemat uang, langkah ini juga membantu mengurangi paparan mikroplastik dari kemasan sekali pakai.

Kurangi Sedotan dan Alat Makan Plastik

Sedotan plastik dan alat makan sekali pakai sering digunakan saat membeli makanan di luar. Sayangnya, benda-benda ini termasuk sulit didaur ulang dan langsung menjadi sampah setelah dipakai.

Sebagai gantinya, kamu bisa mulai membawa sedotan sendiri berbahan logam atau kaca. Peralatan makan dari stainless atau bambu juga praktis dibawa dan bisa digunakan berkali-kali. Selain lebih hemat, kebiasaan ini juga lebih higienis.

Pilih Produk dengan Kemasan Minim Plastik

Sebagian besar plastik diproduksi untuk kebutuhan kemasan. Karena itu, memilih produk dengan kemasan yang lebih ramah lingkungan bisa memberikan dampak besar.

Cobalah beralih ke produk dengan kemasan kertas, kaca, atau aluminium. Membeli dalam jumlah besar juga bisa mengurangi penggunaan kemasan per item. Jika tersedia, manfaatkan toko isi ulang agar bisa membawa wadah sendiri tanpa perlu plastik tambahan.

Gunakan Wadah yang Bisa Dipakai Berulang

Kemasan makanan dari plastik umumnya sulit terurai dan tidak semuanya bisa didaur ulang. Sebagai alternatif, gunakan wadah dari kaca, silikon, atau bambu untuk menyimpan makanan.

Selain itu, pembungkus makanan berbahan alami seperti lilin lebah juga mulai banyak digunakan sebagai pengganti plastik wrap. Lebih awet dan tentu saja lebih ramah lingkungan.

Daur Ulang dengan Cara yang Tepat

Tidak semua plastik bisa dihindari. Namun, yang terpenting adalah bagaimana mengelolanya dengan benar.

Pastikan untuk memilah sampah sesuai jenisnya dan memahami simbol daur ulang pada kemasan. Hindari kebiasaan asal membuang plastik ke tempat daur ulang tanpa memastikan jenisnya, karena justru bisa mengganggu proses pengolahan.

Mengurangi penggunaan plastik tidak harus dilakukan sekaligus. Justru perubahan kecil yang dilakukan secara konsisten bisa memberikan dampak besar dalam jangka panjang.

Kenaikan harga plastik saat ini bisa menjadi pengingat bahwa kebiasaan sehari-hari perlu mulai disesuaikan. Selain membantu menjaga lingkungan, langkah-langkah sederhana ini juga bisa menjadi strategi cerdas untuk menghemat pengeluaran di tengah kondisi ekonomi yang terus berubah.
