16,5 Juta Orang Teken Petisi Usir Argentina dari Piala Dunia 2026, Ini Duduk Perkaranya

JATIMTIMES - Timnas Argentina berhasil melaju ke final Piala Dunia 2026. Tetapi di saat yang sama, muncul gelombang protes di dunia maya. Sebuah petisi daring yang menyerukan agar Lionel Messi dkk didiskualifikasi dari Piala Dunia 2026 mendadak viral dan telah mengumpulkan jutaan tanda tangan.

Petisi tersebut diunggah melalui situs argentinaout.com. Hingga Jumat (17/7/2026) pagi, jumlah penandatangan disebut telah menembus 16,5 juta orang, jauh melampaui target awal yang dipasang sebanyak lima juta tanda tangan.

Dalam isi petisi, penggagas menuding FIFA dan perangkat pertandingan memberikan perlakuan istimewa kepada Argentina sepanjang turnamen berlangsung.

"Jelas sekali bahwa FIFA dan para wasit memihak Lionel Messi dan Argentina. Mengapa negara-negara lain harus ikut bertanding jika pemenangnya sudah ditentukan? Keluarkan Argentina dari Piala Dunia dan berikan kesempatan yang adil kepada semua tim lainnya," demikian isi petisi tersebut.

Petisi itu mencuat setelah pertandingan babak 16 besar yang mempertemukan Argentina dengan Mesir. Pada laga tersebut, Argentina berhasil membalikkan keadaan dan menang dramatis 3-2, meski sempat tertinggal dua gol.

Sejumlah keputusan wasit dalam pertandingan itu memicu perdebatan di kalangan pencinta sepak bola. Pelatih Mesir, Hossam Hassan, bahkan secara terbuka melontarkan kritik keras terhadap kepemimpinan wasit.

Menurut dia, beberapa keputusan dianggap merugikan timnya dan menguntungkan Argentina. "Wasit tidak adil, Tuhan sudah cukup bagi saya dan dia adalah sebaik-baiknya pengatur segala urusan. Tapi [wasit] menyia-nyiakan perjuangan satu bangsa. Turnamen ini sudah diarahkan untuk Argentina," kata Hassan, dilansir dari Sky Sports.

Pernyataan tersebut kemudian viral di media sosial dan menjadi salah satu pemicu munculnya petisi yang menuntut Argentina dikeluarkan dari turnamen.

Pelatih Argentina, Lionel Scaloni, langsung membantah tudingan bahwa timnya mendapat bantuan wasit ataupun perlakuan istimewa dari FIFA.

Scaloni menilai tuduhan semacam itu bukan hal baru bagi Argentina. Ia mengingatkan bahwa narasi serupa juga pernah muncul ketika negaranya menjadi juara Piala Dunia 1986.

Menurut dia, tuduhan adanya pengaturan pertandingan juga sulit diterima di era sepak bola modern yang sudah menggunakan teknologi video assistant referee (VAR).

"Pada tahun 1986, mereka juga mengatakan bahwa Argentina mendapatkan keuntungan yang tidak adil. Ini bukanlah sesuatu yang baru bagi kami," ujar Scaloni.

Penggagas petisi menyampaikan beberapa alasan yang mereka gunakan sebagai dasar tuntutan. Pertama, mereka menilai pertandingan Argentina melawan Mesir telah berjalan tidak adil dan menganggap keputusan-keputusan wasit menguntungkan Albiceleste. Mereka bahkan menuduh FIFA ingin mempertahankan Argentina di turnamen agar Lionel Messi tetap tampil hingga babak akhir.

Selain itu, mereka menyoroti perjalanan Argentina menuju semifinal yang dinilai relatif lebih ringan dibanding peserta lain. Dalam petisi disebutkan Argentina menjadi satu-satunya tim dalam sejarah Piala Dunia yang mencapai semifinal tanpa menghadapi lawan dari jajaran 10 besar peringkat FIFA.

Meski demikian, hingga kini FIFA belum memberikan tanggapan resmi mengenai petisi tersebut. Tidak ada pula indikasi bahwa badan sepak bola dunia itu akan menindaklanjuti tuntutan yang beredar di internet.

Sementara itu, Argentina tetap dipastikan tampil di final Piala Dunia 2026 menghadapi Spanyol pada Senin (20/7/2026) di Stadion MetLife, New Jersey, Amerika Serikat.
