JATIMTIMES – Event olahraga disebut menjadi penyumbang terbesar dalam kalender 1.000 event yang digelar di Kota Malang sepanjang 2026. Dominasi kegiatan tersebut dinilai bukan hanya menarik ribuan peserta dari luar daerah, tetapi juga menggerakkan sektor perhotelan, kuliner hingga meningkatkan pendapatan asli daerah (PAD).

Kepala Disporapar Kota Malang Baihaqi mengatakan, program 1.000 event menjadi salah satu daya tarik utama bagi industri pariwisata. Selain mengangkat potensi budaya, Kota Malang juga mengandalkan sport tourism melalui penyelenggaraan berbagai kejuaraan berskala regional, nasional hingga internasional.

"Program 1.000 event ini menjadi pendongkrak bagi pelaku industri pariwisata di Kota Malang. Kita mengedepankan budaya, kemudian sport tourism dengan event-event besar olahraga, ditambah berbagai event penunjang lainnya," ujarnya.

Menurut Baihaqi, dampak penyelenggaraan berbagai event tersebut tidak hanya terlihat dari meningkatnya okupansi hotel. Kehadiran peserta dan pengunjung juga ikut menggerakkan restoran, pusat oleh-oleh hingga sektor usaha lainnya yang berkaitan dengan pariwisata.

Ia menyebut kontribusi sektor tersebut tercermin dari realisasi pendapatan daerah tahun anggaran 2025. Berdasarkan data laporan pertanggungjawaban APBD 2025, realisasi penerimaan dari sektor yang berkaitan dengan industri pariwisata mencapai sekitar Rp369 miliar.

"Data yang kami ambil adalah realisasi, bukan target. Pajak hotel, restoran, reklame, makan-minum dan sektor pendukung MICE, totalnya kurang lebih Rp369 miliar. Ini menunjukkan event berdampak terhadap pelaku industri pariwisata sekaligus peningkatan PAD Kota Malang," jelasnya.

Baihaqi menambahkan, angka tersebut merupakan data realisasi selama satu tahun 2025. Bahkan, beberapa komponen penerimaan, seperti pajak hotel, disebut melampaui target yang telah ditetapkan.

Sementara itu, untuk penyelenggaraan event pada 2026, Baihaqi mengungkapkan mayoritas kegiatan berasal dari cabang olahraga. Menariknya, sebagian besar kejuaraan tersebut justru diselenggarakan oleh pihak swasta dengan dukungan fasilitasi dari Pemerintah Kota Malang.

"Yang paling banyak memang olahraga. Sebagian besar dilaksanakan swasta, sementara pemerintah memberikan kemudahan perizinan dan dukungan lintas OPD sehingga penyelenggara merasa event di Malang mendapatkan support," katanya.

Menurutnya, Kota Malang memiliki sejumlah keunggulan yang menjadi pertimbangan penyelenggara memilih lokasi kegiatan. Mulai dari akses transportasi yang relatif mudah, kondisi udara yang nyaman, ketersediaan hotel dan restoran, hingga beragam destinasi wisata yang dapat dinikmati peserta setelah mengikuti kejuaraan.

"Orang datang ke Malang bukan hanya untuk bertanding. Mereka juga sudah membayangkan kulinernya, hotelnya, restorannya, kemudian bisa sekalian berwisata. Itu yang menjadi daya tarik Kota Malang sebagai lokasi penyelenggaraan event," pungkas Baihaqi.
