JATIMTIMES - Santunan anak yatim piatu di Desa Wates, Kecamatan Sumbergempol, Kabupaten Tulungagung , berjalan lancar dan sukses. Kegiatan ini digelar di Lapangan Pasren Garuda, atau lokasi rintisan wisata edukasi, pada Senin (13/7/2026) malam.

"Kagiatan ini kita nama dengan lebaran yatim piatu dengan kegiatan pengajian umum dalam rangka peringatan tahun baru islam," kata Budiono, disela acara.
Menurut Sekdes Wates ini, pelaksana kegiatan adalah Ranting NU desa Wates bersama Pemdes dan atas dukungan seluruh warga.
Lantunan salawat Janur Aji dari Blitar mulai awal mengiringi kegiatan yang diawali dengan pembukaan, bacaan ayat suci Alquran, sambutan Kades, ranting NU dan santunan anak yatim piatu.
"Ada 17 anak yang mendapat santunan kali ini dengan total perolehan dana 49.130.000 rupiah," tuturnya.
Menurut Budiono, puncak acara diisi dengan pengajian atau mauidlah hasanah yang disampaikan oleh dai kondang, KH Yasin Bisri dari Tulungagung.

Atas nama Pemdes Wates, Budiono juga menyampaikan apresiasi dan terima kasih kepada semua pihak yang mendukung rangkaian kegiatan ini.
"Kami mewakili Pemdes Wates menyampaikan rasa terima kasih yang tak terhingga atas semua dukungan warga kami yang kompak ini," paparnya.
Sebelum pengajian akbar dan lebaran yatim piatu ini, rangkaian acara yang dilaksanakan antara lain Wates Expo , Festival Sound dan Kontes Pertanian Bupati Tulungagung Cup.
