JATIMTIMES - Persatuan Angkat Berat Seluruh Indonesia (Pabersi) Kota Malang mulai memanaskan mesin menghadapi Kejuaraan Provinsi (Kejurprov) Jawa Timur 2026. Sebanyak 25 atlet disiapkan untuk tampil di ajang yang berlangsung di Surabaya pada Juli itu dengan target membawa pulang empat medali.
Kejurprov tersebut menjadi bagian penting dalam proses pembinaan atlet menuju Pekan Olahraga Provinsi (Porprov) Jawa Timur 2027. Karena itu, Pabersi Kota Malang terus mematangkan persiapan melalui program latihan berkelanjutan dan evaluasi kemampuan atlet.

Ketua Pabersi Kota Malang, Sony Rudiwiyanto, mengatakan seluruh atlet yang dipersiapkan telah melalui tahapan tes prestasi sebagai dasar pemetaan kemampuan dan kesiapan menghadapi kompetisi tingkat provinsi.
“Kami sudah mempersiapkan melalui tes prestasi kemarin untuk kejurprov di Surabaya bulan Juli. Kemudian nanti dilanjutkan persiapan Porprov 2027. Selain itu, November tahun ini Kota Malang menjadi tuan rumah kejurprov seluruh Jawa Timur. Jadi, kami sudah siap dengan 25 atlet yang akan dipersiapkan menghadapi agenda tersebut,” ujar Sony.
Menurut Sony, pembinaan atlet angkat berat tidak lepas dari berbagai tantangan yang harus dihadapi setiap organisasi olahraga. Mulai dari menjaga kedisiplinan atlet hingga mengantisipasi risiko cedera yang sewaktu-waktu dapat mengganggu program latihan.
Meski demikian, pihaknya berkomitmen memberikan dukungan penuh agar para atlet mampu menunjukkan performa terbaik dan mengharumkan nama Kota Malang di tingkat Jawa Timur.
“Seperti organisasi atau kegiatan olahraga pada umumnya, pasti ada dinamika. Ada atlet yang kurang disiplin, ada yang mengalami cedera dan sebagainya,” ucapnya.
Menghadapi kejurprov kategori usia 18 tahun ke bawah itu, Pabersi Kota Malang memasang target realistis dengan memburu empat medali. Optimisme itu muncul karena sejumlah atlet dinilai memiliki peluang besar untuk bersaing di papan atas.
“Untuk kejurprov bulan Juli nanti kategori usia 18 tahun ke bawah, kami menargetkan empat medali. Kami memiliki beberapa atlet potensial yang berpeluang meraih medali emas,” ujarnya.
Namun jalan menuju target tersebut bakal tidak mudah. Sony menilai peta persaingan cabang olahraga angkat berat di Jawa Timur kini semakin merata. Banyak daerah mulai menunjukkan peningkatan kualitas pembinaan sehingga melahirkan atlet-atlet potensial baru.

“Sekarang persaingan sudah merata. Hampir semua daerah mulai bangkit lagi dan melakukan pembinaan atlet dengan baik,” bebernya.
Kendati demikian, semangat dan kepercayaan diri tetap menjadi modal utama kontingen Kota Malang. Berbagai kebutuhan pendukung keberangkatan atlet ke Surabaya juga telah dipersiapkan secara matang, mulai dari transportasi, akomodasi hingga koordinasi dengan instansi terkait.
“Kami sangat optimistis. Untuk keberangkatan ke Surabaya, akomodasi, transportasi, dan kebutuhan lainnya sudah kami siapkan. Kami juga sudah berkoordinasi dengan Dispora dan KONI Kota Malang. Atlet-atlet Pabersi sudah siap menghadapi Kejurprov tahun ini dan Porprov tahun depan,” pungkas Sony.
Dengan persiapan yang terus dimatangkan, Pabersi Kota Malang berharap Kejurprov Jawa Timur menjadi momentum untuk mengukur kekuatan atlet sekaligus membuka jalan menuju prestasi yang lebih besar pada Porprov Jatim 2027.
