JATIMTIMES - Pemerintah Kota (Pemkot) Malang menaruh perhatian besar terhadap perkembangan olahraga futsal di kalangan mahasiswa. Hal itu terlihat dari dukungan dan apresiasi yang diberikan pada gelaran National Collegiate Futsal Series (NCFS) Regional Malang 2026 yang mulai digelar di GOR Ken Arok sejak Selasa (19/5/2026).
Melalui ajang tersebut, Pemkot Malang menilai pembinaan atlet futsal usia muda tidak hanya berjalan di level sekolah, tetapi juga terus berkembang di lingkungan perguruan tinggi.

Kepala Dinas Kepemudaan, Olahraga, dan Pariwisata (Disporapar) Kota Malang Baihaqi mengatakan, NCFS menjadi kompetisi penting karena mampu membuka ruang bagi mahasiswa untuk menunjukkan kemampuan sekaligus bersaing menuju level lebih tinggi.
“Atas nama Bapak Wali Kota Malang, kami menyampaikan apresiasi luar biasa terhadap kegiatan ini. Kota Malang hari ini menjadi tempat pelaksanaan salah satu seri nasional pertandingan antar fakultas,” ujar Baihaqi.
Menurutnya, kepercayaan menjadikan Kota Malang sebagai tuan rumah regional NCFS bukan tanpa alasan. Selama ini, Malang dikenal memiliki atmosfer olahraga kampus yang kuat, termasuk dalam cabang futsal.
Karena itu, Baihaqi berharap turnamen futsal tersebut dapat melahirkan pemain-pemain potensial yang nantinya mampu memperkuat klub profesional maupun tim nasional futsal Indonesia.
“Futsal sekarang sangat diminati. Ini menjadi momentum untuk menjaring pemain-pemain muda potensial yang nanti bisa dibina menjadi atlet futsal tangguh di masa depan,” katanya.
Dalam NCFS Regional Malang 2026, sebanyak 24 tim antar fakultas dari berbagai perguruan tinggi ikut ambil bagian. Mereka akan bersaing memperebutkan satu tiket menuju putaran final nasional di Yogyakarta.
Baihaqi menyebut persaingan dipastikan berlangsung ketat lantaran hanya satu tim terbaik yang berhak melaju mewakili Malang di tingkat nasional.
“Kompetisinya sangat ketat. Dari puluhan tim yang bertanding nanti hanya akan diambil satu tim terbaik untuk mewakili Malang di final nasional di Jogja,” imbuhnya.

Sementara itu, Deputy Sekjen Federasi Futsal Indonesia Billy David Nerorumilena menjelaskan bahwa NCFS merupakan bagian dari pembinaan futsal nasional di level mahasiswa.
Menurut Billy, tingginya antusiasme kompetisi antar fakultas membuat FFI terus mendorong lahirnya turnamen yang lebih kompetitif sebagai jembatan menuju level profesional.
“Kami mencoba membangun kompetisi antar mahasiswa karena animo antar fakultas jauh lebih besar. Setelah pelajar, mahasiswa menjadi tahapan penting sebelum masuk ke level profesional,” jelasnya.
Ia menambahkan, Kota Malang selama ini menjadi salah satu daerah dengan kultur futsal mahasiswa yang kuat di Indonesia. Dari puluhan tim yang bertanding, FFI optimistis akan muncul pemain-pemain potensial untuk masa depan futsal nasional.
NCFS 2026 sendiri digelar di 10 regional kota besar Indonesia. Setelah Malang, rangkaian kompetisi akan berlanjut ke Surabaya dan Medan sebelum seluruh juara regional bertemu pada National Stage di Yogyakarta pada Juli mendatang.
