JATIMTIMES - Pelaksanaan flushing atau pladu Bendungan Wlingi Raya dan Bendungan Serut di Kabupaten Blitar kembali menjadi perhatian masyarakat. Kegiatan tahunan yang menyebabkan derasnya aliran Sungai Brantas itu dipastikan juga berdampak pada wilayah Kabupaten Tulungagung.
Untuk mengantisipasi risiko yang bisa terjadi, Polres Tulungagung menyiagakan personel pengamanan di sejumlah titik rawan di sepanjang aliran sungai.

Pengamanan dilakukan karena setiap pelaksanaan flushing selalu menarik banyak warga untuk datang ke tepian Sungai Brantas. Sebagian masyarakat biasanya memanfaatkan momen tersebut untuk berburu ikan yang terbawa arus deras akibat proses penggelontoran bendungan.
Fenomena ikan mabuk saat pladu memang sudah menjadi pemandangan tahunan yang sering menyedot perhatian warga. Tidak sedikit masyarakat yang rela turun ke sungai demi mendapatkan ikan dalam jumlah banyak. Namun di balik itu, kondisi arus air yang sangat deras juga menyimpan bahaya serius bagi keselamatan.
Jajaran Polres Tulungagung bersama Polsek di wilayah yang dilintasi Sungai Brantas mulai melakukan patroli dan memberikan imbauan kepada masyarakat pada Senin (18/05/2026). Petugas menyasar sejumlah titik yang selama ini dikenal sering dipadati warga saat flushing berlangsung.
Kasihumas Polres Tulungagung IPTU Nanang mengatakan pihak kepolisian ingin memastikan masyarakat tetap aman selama kegiatan flushing berjalan. Menurutnya, antusiasme warga memang cukup tinggi setiap kali pladu dilakukan.
“Kami mengimbau masyarakat agar tetap berhati-hati dan tidak terlalu dekat dengan aliran sungai saat flushing berlangsung karena arus air sangat deras dan berbahaya,” ujar IPTU Nanang.
Ia menjelaskan, derasnya debit air saat flushing dapat berubah sewaktu-waktu dan sulit diprediksi. Kondisi itu berpotensi membahayakan warga yang berada terlalu dekat dengan sungai, apalagi jika nekat turun langsung ke aliran air.
Selain itu, polisi juga mengingatkan masyarakat agar tidak mengabaikan keselamatan hanya demi mendapatkan ikan. Menurut IPTU Nanang, keselamatan jiwa harus tetap menjadi prioritas utama.
“Kami berharap masyarakat mematuhi imbauan petugas demi keselamatan bersama. Jangan mengambil risiko yang bisa membahayakan diri sendiri maupun orang lain,” tambahnya.

Petugas kepolisian dalam proses pengamanan tersebut juga melakukan pemantauan di beberapa lokasi yang diperkirakan menjadi pusat keramaian warga. Kehadiran polisi di lapangan diharapkan mampu mencegah terjadinya hal-hal yang tidak diinginkan, termasuk kecelakaan di sekitar aliran Sungai Brantas.
Tidak hanya melakukan patroli, petugas juga aktif memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat mengenai bahaya arus sungai saat flushing berlangsung. Sosialisasi dilakukan secara langsung kepada warga yang berkumpul di sekitar bantaran sungai.
Flushing bendungan sendiri merupakan kegiatan rutin yang dilakukan untuk membersihkan endapan sedimen di area bendungan. Saat proses itu dilakukan, debit air yang dilepaskan menjadi jauh lebih besar dibanding kondisi normal. Akibatnya, arus sungai menjadi lebih deras dan mampu menyeret apa saja yang ada di sekitarnya.
Meski demikian, banyak warga yang tetap datang karena menganggap momen tersebut sebagai kesempatan mendapatkan ikan dengan mudah. Bahkan, tidak sedikit warga dari luar daerah yang ikut berdatangan ke lokasi-lokasi tertentu di sepanjang Sungai Brantas.
Polres Tulungagung pun meminta masyarakat agar lebih bijak menyikapi kegiatan tahunan tersebut. Polisi berharap warga tetap menjaga ketertiban dan tidak melakukan tindakan berbahaya selama flushing berlangsung.
