JATIMTIMES - Kekhawatiran guru non-ASN atau honorer terkait isu larangan mengajar mulai 1 Januari 2027 ramai diperbincangkan di media sosial. DPRD Kota Malang meminta para tenaga pendidik tidak langsung panik menanggapi kabar tersebut.
Ketua Komisi D DPRD Kota Malang, Eko Herdiyanto menilai, kegaduhan itu muncul akibat perbedaan penafsiran terhadap Surat Edaran Kemendikdasmen Nomor 7 Tahun 2026. Menurutnya, surat edaran tersebut hanya mengatur perpanjangan masa kerja dan penggajian guru non-ASN hingga 31 Desember 2026. Aturan itu bukan berarti guru honorer otomatis berhenti mengajar pada awal 2027.

“Ini tidak berarti per 1 Januari 2027 guru non-ASN dirumahkan atau tidak diperbolehkan mengajar lagi. Ada perbedaan persepsi yang perlu diluruskan,” ujar Eko, Selasa (12/5/2026).
Eko menegaskan, regulasi itu justru memberi kepastian sementara bagi guru honorer. Setidaknya, hak terkait masa kerja dan penggajian masih memiliki dasar hukum hingga akhir 2026.
Ia menilai langkah tersebut penting agar tidak terjadi kekosongan aturan pada masa transisi kebijakan pemerintah pusat. Dengan begitu, status dan hak guru non-ASN tetap terlindungi.
Di sisi lain, DPRD Kota Malang berharap pemerintah memanfaatkan tenggat waktu tersebut untuk menata ulang status kepegawaian guru honorer. Salah satu opsi yang didorong adalah pengangkatan melalui skema PPPK.

Eko juga menilai kebutuhan tenaga pendidik di Indonesia masih sangat besar. Karena itu, ia meyakini pemerintah tidak akan mengambil keputusan menghentikan pengabdian guru honorer tanpa solusi jelas.
“Negara ini masih membutuhkan banyak tenaga pengajar. Semoga sudah dipertimbangkan matang oleh pemerintah pusat,” pungkasnya.
