JATIMTIMES - Indeks Ketimpangan Gender (IKG) Kota Malang pada tahun 2025 tercatat sebesar 0,137 atau naik 0,006 poin dibandingkan tahun 2024 yang berada di angka 0,131. Kenaikan ini menjadi sinyal bahwa kesetaraan gender di Kota Malang kembali mengalami tekanan setelah sempat membaik dalam dua tahun sebelumnya.

Secara tren, dalam kurun waktu 2021 hingga 2025, pergerakan IKG Kota Malang menunjukkan dinamika yang cukup fluktuatif. Setelah mengalami peningkatan pada 2022, IKG sempat menurun pada 2023 dan relatif stabil di 2024, sebelum akhirnya kembali naik di 2025.

Meski kenaikan tahun ini tergolong kecil, kondisi tersebut tetap mencerminkan pelebaran ketimpangan gender yang perlu mendapat perhatian serius. Faktor utama yang mendorong kenaikan IKG tahun 2025 adalah meningkatnya proporsi perempuan usia 15-49 tahun yang melahirkan anak pertama di usia kurang dari 20 tahun.

Kondisi tersebut menjadi indikator penting dalam dimensi kesehatan reproduksi yang berkontribusi terhadap ketimpangan gender. Meski demikian, di balik kenaikan IKG, sejumlah indikator justru menunjukkan perbaikan.

Tingkat Partisipasi Angkatan Kerja (TPAK) perempuan mengalami peningkatan signifikan dari 55,86 persen pada 2024 menjadi 60,62 persen di 2025. Di sisi lain, TPAK laki-laki sedikit menurun dari 79,50 persen menjadi 79,35 persen, yang turut mempersempit kesenjangan di sektor ketenagakerjaan.

Perbaikan juga terlihat pada dimensi pemberdayaan perempuan serta aspek kesehatan reproduksi secara umum, yang menunjukkan bahwa berbagai upaya penguatan peran perempuan mulai membuahkan hasil, meskipun masih dihadapkan pada tantangan tertentu.

Dibandingkan dengan daerah lain di Jawa Timur, posisi Kota Malang dalam hal ketimpangan gender masih berada di tingkat menengah. Pada 2025, Kota Madiun mencatat IKG terendah sebesar 0,092, disusul Kota Kediri 0,125, Kota Malang 0,137, Kabupaten Madiun 0,139, dan Kota Surabaya 0,151.

Kepala BPS Kota Malang, Umar Sjaifudin, mengatakan bahwa IKG merupakan indikator yang sangat dinamis karena dipengaruhi oleh berbagai dimensi, mulai dari kesehatan reproduksi, pendidikan, hingga partisipasi dalam dunia kerja.

“Peningkatan IKG Kota Malang pada tahun 2025 ini terutama dipengaruhi oleh naiknya proporsi perempuan usia 15 hingga 49 tahun yang melahirkan hidup pertama di usia kurang dari 20 tahun,” ucap Umar.

“Meski demikian, kita juga melihat adanya lperbaikan di sejumlah dimensi pembentuk lainnya, seperti meningkatnya partisipasi angkatan kerja perempuan serta membaiknya indikator pemberdayaan perempuan,” tambahnya

Ia juga menambahkan bahwa secara umum perkembangan IKG di tingkat kabupaten/kota menunjukkan tren yang cukup beragam. Sebagian besar daerah mengalami penurunan ketimpangan gender, namun tidak sedikit pula yang justru mengalami peningkatan.

Dalam periode 2024 hingga 2025, terdapat 23 kabupaten/kota yang berhasil menurunkan ketimpangan gender, sementara 15 daerah lainnya mengalami peningkatan. “Ini menunjukkan bahwa capaian kesetaraan gender masih sangat dipengaruhi oleh kondisi spesifik di masing-masing wilayah,” terang Umar.

“Karena itu, intervensi kebijakan harus lebih tepat sasaran, terutama pada indikator-indikator yang masih menjadi penyumbang utama ketimpangan,” kata Umar.

Dengan kondisi tersebut, pihaknya menilai bahwa upaya peningkatan kesetaraan gender di Kota Malang perlu dilakukan secara lebih komprehensif, khususnya dalam menekan angka pernikahan dan kelahiran usia dini, sekaligus mempertahankan tren positif pada sektor ketenagakerjaan perempuan.
