JATIMTIMES - Pemerintah Kota (Pemkot) Malang memastikan bahwa proses relokasi Pasar Gadang terus berlangsung. Selasa (28/4/2026) sebanyak 625 kios di sepanjang Jalan Pasar Gadang ditertibkan.
Satu per satu kios tampak mulai ditertibkan. Pemkot Malang turut menggunakan alat berat untuk membongkat bangunan semi permanen tersebut.

Sementara pedagang, juga terlihat turut mengamankan puing sisa material yang masih dapat digunakan, seperti kayu, atap galvalum dan perangkat instalasi listrik.
Wali Kota Malang Wahyu Hidayat mengatakan hari ini difokuskan pada pembongkaran lapak lama. Proses tersebut dilakukan menggunakan alat berat agar cepat selesai.
“Alhamdulillah, hari ini semua sudah pindah. Dagangannya sudah masuk semua. Sekarang tinggal pembongkaran,” ujarnya.
Ia menegaskan, relokasi sejatinya sudah selesai sejak beberapa hari lalu. Penundaan terjadi karena pedagang menggelar syukuran sebagai bentuk tradisi dan ungkapan terima kasih.
“Ini budaya Jawa. Mereka ingin apa yang dilakukan mendapat rida Allah. Tadi sudah kita lakukan, sekarang kita bongkar,” katanya.
Pembongkaran ditargetkan rampung dalam sehari. Area dari sisi timur hingga barat pasar akan diratakan untuk persiapan pembangunan. “Insya Allah besok sudah rata semua, dari ujung barat sampai ujung timur,” tambah Wahyu.
Ia juga mengungkapkan proses lelang proyek telah berjalan. Pekerjaan fisik ditargetkan mulai pada pekan keempat Mei mendatang.

Total pedagang yang direlokasi mencapai 1.200 orang. Mereka mayoritas telah berjualan di Pasar Gadang selama puluhan tahun. “Kurang lebih 35 tahun mereka berdagang di sini,” ungkapnya.
Sementara itu, Kepala Diskopindag Kota Malang Eko Sri Yuliadi menjelaskan tahap awal difokuskan pada pedagang di sisi jalan utama. “Sekitar 625 pedagang berada di sepanjang jalan dekat Jembatan Kedungkandang. Itu yang kita prioritaskan pindah,” jelasnya.
Menurut Eko, seluruh pedagang tahap pertama kini sudah masuk ke dalam area relokasi. Petugas tinggal membantu pembongkaran kios lama.
Ia menambahkan, penertiban pedagang di sisi lain akan dilakukan pada tahap berikutnya. Terutama yang masih menempati trotoar dan bahu jalan. “Itu nanti tahap dua. Yang sekarang ini dulu, karena paling banyak memakan badan jalan,” ucapnya.
