JATIMTIMES - Wali Kota Malang Wahyu Hidayat bersama Wakil Wali Kota Ali Muthohirin dan Kementerian Pertanian melakukan gerakan percepatan tanam padi di wilayah Kelurahan Mulyorejo, Kota Malang. Langkah ini dilakukan untuk menjaga produktivitas pertanian sekaligus mengantisipasi musim kemarau yang diprediksi berlangsung cukup panjang.

Wahyu menjelaskan, total luas lahan pertanian di Mulyorejo mencapai sekitar 45 hektare. Namun, dalam kegiatan percepatan tanam kali ini, lahan yang digarap secara langsung sekitar 10 hektare.

“Ini menandakan bahwa pertanian di Kota Malang, khususnya produktivitas padi, tetap kita jaga. Kita bersepakat bahwa lahan sawah yang ada harus dikendalikan agar tidak berkurang,” ujar Wahyu, Kamis (23/4/2026).

Ia menyebut, masa panen diperkirakan berlangsung dalam waktu 112 hingga 115 hari atau kurang dari empat bulan. Dalam satu tahun, petani di wilayah tersebut dapat melakukan dua kali masa tanam.

“Harapannya stabilitas harga dan ketersediaan beras di Kota Malang tetap terjaga, sehingga daya beli masyarakat juga lebih terjangkau,” imbuhnya.

Menurut Wahyu, percepatan tanam dilakukan serentak sebagai langkah antisipasi terhadap musim kemarau. Selain itu, kebijakan ini menjadi upaya memberikan pemahaman kepada masyarakat pentingnya menjaga lahan pertanian di tengah tekanan alih fungsi lahan.

Program ini tidak hanya dilakukan di Mulyorejo, melainkan juga di empat kecamatan lain di Kota Malang, kecuali Kecamatan Klojen yang sudah tidak memiliki lahan persawahan.

Sementara itu, Kepala Dinas Ketahanan Pangan dan Pertanian (Dispangtan) Kota Malang Slamet Husnan menjelaskan bahwa percepatan tanam dilakukan mumpung curah hujan masih tersedia.

“Berdasarkan informasi BMKG, hingga akhir April, wilayah Jawa Timur masih mengalami hujan dengan kategori El Nino sedang. Di Kota Malang sendiri, ketersediaan air relatif aman karena didukung sumber dari sungai-sungai,” ucapnya.

Dalam kegiatan tersebut, pemerintah juga menyalurkan bantuan benih padi varietas Inpari 32 dan Inpari 45 kepada petani. Total bantuan mencapai 10.000 kilogram atau 10 ton untuk tahun anggaran 2026.

“Harapannya petani tidak kesulitan dalam penyediaan benih dan bisa langsung menjalankan usaha taninya,” tambah Slamet.

Untuk kebutuhan pupuk bersubsidi, ia memastikan telah direncanakan melalui sistem e-RDKK sejak tahun sebelumnya. Bahkan, penyusunan kebutuhan pupuk untuk 2027 saat ini juga sudah mulai diproses.

Slamet menambahkan, titik penanaman di Kota Malang difokuskan di Kelurahan Mulyorejo dengan luasan sekitar 1,1 hektare untuk tahap saat ini. Sementara di kecamatan lain, tanaman padi sudah lebih dulu ditanam dan kini telah memasuki usia sekitar 35 hari.

Gerakan percepatan tanam ini merupakan bagian dari program serentak tingkat Jawa Timur yang berpusat di Kabupaten Ngawi serta bagian dari agenda nasional yang sebelumnya digelar di Jambi.
