JATIMTIMES – Satu nyawa melayang dalam musibah kecelakaan lalu lintas terjadi di Jalan Raya Banyuwangi-Jember, tepatnya di wilayah selatan RSIA Fatimah, Desa Kalirejo, Kecamatan Kabat, Kabupaten Banyuwangi, Sabtu (18/4/2026) sekitar pukul 17.00 WIB.
Kecelakaan yang terjadi melibatkan sepeda motor Honda Scoopy bernomor polisi P-5721-QAK yang dikendarai GDW (23), mahasiswa asal Kecamatan Cluring, yang berboncengan dengan ANR (24), mahasiswa asal Kecamatan Rogojampi.

Kendaraan lain yang terlibat adalah truk tangki merek UD Trucks bernomor polisi N-9997-UH yang dikemudikan ACS (35), asal Kecamatan Srono, dengan penumpang AS (44) asal Kecamatan Kalipuro Banyuwangi.
Menurut keterangan saksi mata S (43) yang berada di lokasi, awalnya sepeda motor melaju dari arah selatan menuju utara. Sesampainya di TKP, pengendara motor tidak menyadari keberadaan gerobak sampah yang sedang didorong di depannya, sehingga dia kaget dan berusaha menghindar ke kanan. Sedangkan di sisi kanan motor, melaju truk tangki dari arah yang sama, dan akhirnya terjadi tabrakan antara sepeda motor dengan bagian kiri truk tangki.
Akibat kejadian tersebut, ANR mengalami luka parah di kepala dan dinyatakan meninggal dunia setelah dibawa ke RSIA Fatimah. Sementara pengendara motor GDW hanya mengalami luka lecet ringan, sedangkan pengemudi dan penumpang truk tangki tidak mengalami luka berarti. Kerugian materi akibat kecelakaan ini diperkirakan mencapai Rp1.000.000,-.
Kanit Gakkum Satlantas Polresta Banyuwangi, Ipda Tri Pepri Alfian membenarkan kejadian tersebut dan menjelaskan kronologi yang diperoleh berdasarkan hasil olah TKP petugas dan keterangan saksi.
“Berdasarkan data yang kami himpun, kecelakaan bermula saat pengendara motor tidak melihat adanya gerobak sampah di depannya. Sehingga bereaksi menghindar ke kanan dan menabrak truk tangki yang melaju searah di sisi kanannya. Korban penumpang motor mengalami luka berat di kepala dan meninggal dunia di lokasi kejadian,” jelas Ipda Pepri.
Perwira Polisi asal Kecamatan Rogojampi tersebut menambahkan, pihak kepolisian telah mengamankan kedua kendaraan yang terlibat serta memeriksa saksi mata untuk proses penyelidikan lebih lanjut.

“Kami terus mendalami kasus ini guna menentukan faktor penyebab utama dan memprosesnya sesuai dengan ketentuan hukum yang berlaku,” tegasnya.
Ipda Pepri juga mengimbau kepada para pengguna jalan untuk selalu hati-hati waspada dan fokus saat berkendara, terutama di ruas jalan yang padat dan banyak aktivitas di sisi jalan.
“Pengendara disarankan untuk selalu memperhatikan kondisi jalan di depan dan sekitarnya, serta tidak melakukan manuver mendadak yang bisa membahayakan diri sendiri maupun pengguna jalan lain. Keselamatan berlalu lintas adalah tanggung jawab kita bersama,” pungkasnya.
