Untuk mengukuhkan jati dirinya sebagai kota tua, jajaran muspika dan perangkat desa se Kecamatan Kencong diwajibkan mengenakan pakaian adat setiap hari Kamis selama bulan Agustus, hal ini disampaikan oleh Camat Kencong Susmiadi kepada wartawan usai menggelar apel bersama pada Kamis (1/8/2019).

“Kencong merupakan kota tua dan kota sejarah, saat ini kita juga sedang mengembangkan destinasi wisata kota tua, mumpung saat ini moment bulan Agustus, kami sepakati bersama dan menginstruksikan kepada seluruh jajaran muspika dan perangkat desa untuk mengenakan pakaian adat setiap hari Kamis, dan ini sifatnya wajib selama bulan Agustus,” ujar Camat Kencong Susmiadi.

Susmiadi mengatakan, bahwa gagasan ini muncul setelah pihaknya berembuk dengan Kapolsek dan Danramil Kencongs

“Selain untuk mengenalkan kepada khalayak ramai dan untuk kemajuan kecamatan, hal ini juga untuk mengingatkan generasi milenial agar tidak lupa dengan tonggak berdirinya sejarah kemerdekaan Indonesia,” beber camat yang memiliki hobi melukis.

Kencong sendiri disebut sebagai kota tua, karena tidak lepas dengan berdirinya pabrik gula di masa kolonial Belanda, selain itu, juga masih berdirinya beberapa bangunan peninggalan Belanda yang masih terlihat kokoh meskipun beberapa waktu sebelumnya tidak terurus.

“Saat ini, beberapa bangunan tua yang merupakan bangunan sejarah sudah kita benahi dan kita rawat, dengan kita sulap menjadi destinasi wisata yang diberi nama kampung Londo,” tambah Susmiadi.

Sementara Pj. Kades Cakru Didik Hadi Sawiji, yang ikut apel bersama di halaman kantor Kecamatan Kencong dengan mengenakan pakaian adat mengatakan, pihaknya bersama perangkat desa lainnya sangat antusias dan mengapresiasi gagasan mengenakan pakaian adat ini, selain untuk mengukuhkan jati diri Kencong sebagai kota tua, juga sebagai nostalgia sewaktu masih anak-anak.

“Keren ini mas, kami semua menyambut baik anjuran ini, selain untuk memperingati HUT Kemerdekaan RI ke 74, juga untuk nostalgia juga, apalagi Kencong merupakan kota tua,” pungkas Didik. (*)
